Why are you called Like the Original? We chose this name because we provide the best and most authentic design icon replicas from the last century for a budget price, factory-direct. Herewith offering a powerful alternative to the products of the extremely high priced original manufacturers. We use the highest quality materials for the detailed reproduction of our furniture. We predominantly produce according to the original specifications of the designers and we have the best craftsmen to do so. Our products are very much comparable with the originals, and sometimes better. Only our prices you cannot compare. In comparison with the prices of the original products, you can save up to 85%. In most of the product pages we indicate the prices of the originals. Hence, you can calculate your personal advantage yourself.

What does it actually mean "Like the Original"?  Our products are accurate reproductions of pieces of furniture created in the last century, mostly in the 1920s and 1930s. They are not the originals. The originals are extremely rare and are largely in possession of museums or to be found in private collections.  We faithfully reproduce form and materials of the originals in order to provide our customers the pleasure of owning a beautiful designer product at an affordable price. Most of our products are made by hand. From a design point of view we try not to deviate from the original pieces. One must remember though that technological progress enables us to produce products that possess advantages over  the products manufactured at the beginning or the middle of last century. In many ways our products will be better and more comfortable than the originals.

Why is your furniture so cheap, compared to other brands?
Maybe you should ask yourself why other brands are so expensive. One of the reasons is that the way to travel for a product from factory to consumer is so long. In general, after the production the products go to an importer, then to a middleman, then to a regional distributor and at the end of the process they go to a retail store where they are offered to you. Since every company would like to earn money in this long chain process, it is not surprising that the prices of the goods have to be multiplied many times before they reach the customer. Apart from the long and costly trade chains they are in many brands have very high marketing cost, as well as very expensive showrooms you will have to pay at the end of the day. We do things differently: all our furniture is shipped directly from our production facilities to you, the customer. Middlemen are being avoided. Moreover, we have a relatively small marketing budget and we avoid expensive showrooms. The advantage is there for you: the best price for a superior, high quality product!

Is your website secure?
Yes, our site has all appropriate security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. All orders are transmitted over secure Internet connections using SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption technology. All of your personal information including your credit Card information and sign-in password are stored in encrypted format at all times. This website, and more importantly all user information, is further protected by a multi-layer firewall based security system.
We use Stripe to process all your credit card and debit card payments. Stripe meets or exceeds the most stringent industry standards: each piece of their infrastructure and each stage of their operations are designed with security in mind. Stripe forces HTTPS for all services, including their public website. Stripe regularly audits the details of their implementation: the certificates they serve, the certificate authorities they use, and the ciphers they support. Stripe uses HSTS to ensure browsers interact with Stripe only over HTTPS. Stripe is also on the HSTS preloaded lists for both Chrome and Firefox.

How do I create an account and place an order online?
You can at any time Create an Account, by clicking the appropriate link in the main page (above the top menu). You may also click "Add to cart" on any product detail page. Once you have added an item to your order you may either click "Continue Shopping" or "Checkout" at the bottom of the shopping cart page. When you click "Checkout" you will be asked to "Sign In" or "Create an Account".

What are my payment options?
We currently accept checks and Paypal Payments.

When do you charge my card?
We take payment from your card at the time we receive your order. On occasion we may ask for additional information in order to process your order. We will conduct this process as quickly as possible however on occasion dispatch of goods may be delayed.

I created an account but forgot my password. How can I get my password, or create a new password?
You have created an Account and have forgotten your password. No problem! We will email it to you in a matter of minutes. Just click the button "Forgotten Password".

How long does my order take to be produced?
We usually hold stock of products for the models and options most in demand. Many products though are unique and custom made for you. However, this care takes time. In general, we will deliver the desired product within 8-12 weeks. We promise it will be worth the wait.

Is the furniture I get exactly like the products in the pictures?
The furniture, lighting and accessories we produce are of the highest quality and design standards and will save you an enormous amount of money. Our promise: the products you will get are exactly the products you see online.

How do I know that the color I see on screen is accurate?  Do the M&M Test

Every computer monitor displays colors slightly differently. To ensure you are seeing the color of our products as they truly are, take the M&M test. If the colors of the candies you see on screen don't look the same as they do in real life, try adjusting your monitor's brightness and contrast. Or refer to your computer user manual for instructions on how to adjust color settings.

Do you collect Sales Tax?
Whether items are taxable and the specific taxable rate is always determined by the State where the order is being delivered. We are required by law to collect Sales Tax on certain items shipped. However we have decided not to collect any Sales Tax from our customers. That makes all products on our site TAX FREE, and you a happier customer. Shopping with us: we cannot make it easier and cheaper! Enjoy!

Do you offer New Customer Discounts?
From time to time, we offer new customer discounts in the form of promotion codes. Be sure to enter these codes in the shopping cart screen. After entering the code, you usually have to log in or register so we can confirm that you are a new customer. Only one New Customer Discount may be used per household.
