Cancelling your order

Because most of our items ship or go into production within a few days, please understand that we can only accept cancellations within 24 hours from when your order was placed. If an item has already shipped within this 24 hour period, we regret that you will be responsible for paying shipping back to our warehouse and an additional 8% restocking fee. Please note: the restocking fee only applies if an item has already shipped within the 24 hour period as mentioned.  All cancellation requests must be emailed to


Returning your order

We want every one of your shopping experiences with us to be a positive one. We are happy to offer our customers a simple, no hassle return policy! In the unlikely event that you are unhappy with your item, you may return it to us for a full refund of the purchase price excluding the delivery charge, within 14 days of your cancellation. Any discounts or free shipping applied to your original order may be deducted from your return credit. For example, if we offered free shipping on your order, we will issue you a credit for the purchase price of the returned merchandise, but will deduct our actual shipping costs for returned items.
Items must be completely unassembled and unused, in their original condition and packaging, complete with all materials. Customers are responsible for returning the item to its warehouse of origin using the same shipping method used for outbound shipment. Please feel free to email us at if you'd like additional information about the outbound shipping cost of an item you want to return. Refunds will be issued once we have received the item and it has been determined to be in like-new condition.
Please firstly contact our Customer Care Team before you initiate any returns by filling out the applicable form, to be found in the bottom menu header "Returns". If your order needs to be returned and/or replaced a customer care representative will be in touch within 48-72 hours to personally assist you.
Before sending back an item, our Customer Care Team will provide you with a Return Authorization number. All return requests must be made within 7 days of delivery. All returns must be sent insured for the purchase price. If an item is returned with shipping damage, it is the customer's responsibility to file a claim for the damaged merchandise.


Like the Original is not responsible for costs involved in trade persons or persons who cannot assemble items that are then returned because of the failure to assemble properly.

What happens if the wrong product is delivered?

In the unlikely case that you have received the wrong product, we will of course make an exchange free of charge. You shall contact our Customer Care Team immediately. Please fill out the applicable form, to be found in the bottom menu header "Returns".

My piece of furniture was damaged during the transport. What now?

Please make sure that you inspect all packages at the time of delivery. If the packaging has any damage, or if there is any reason you are concerned with its packaging or delivery, please write, "Product Damaged" clearly on the sheet the delivery agent asks you to sign. This simply insures that if there is any damage, it will be easy to take care of the problem. You have the right to refuse damaged goods. In all cases you shall contact our Customer Care Team immediately:

Commercial Use
Any items supplied by Like the Original which are not used exclusively in a private and domestic environment will not be covered by any warranty or guarantee. Any warranty or guarantee will be rendered void in the event that purchased goods are used, for any period of time, in a commercial or public environment, regardless of whether they were purchased to be used in a domestic environment or are in fact used as such.

Return of replacement goods
If an item you ordered was found to be faulty and we replaced it, you have the right to cancel your order in respect of the replacement product within 7 days starting on the day after you received the replacement item and receive a refund. The same policy applies as for returning other items.

Christmas period returns policy
We don't want you to worry about anything during the Christmas holiday period, so that you can relax and buy all your gifts before the Christmas rush. We therefore have extended our returns policy for Christmas - all items purchased after the 31st October in any year can be returned up until the end of January in the year immediately following the previous year.

Cost of return shipping
Please note that we can only refund the transport costs for returning an item where we sent you the wrong item or the item is damaged, defective or incorrect. Depending on the reason for return, you may be responsible for return shipping.  We charge a flat and % rate for return shipping based on the subtotal of your return plus an 8% restocking fee.

Please note: there is an additional 8% restocking fee applied to the return shipping rates quoted above.

Once we have received and processed your return, you will receive an email with the details of your refund. If a refund is made to your credit card, please allow 30 days for the refund to appear on your statement. The time period varies for every bank. Please contact your credit card's issuing bank if you have further questions.
Please note that online returns are only available for items marked as Returnable in My Account or your Order Confirmation email.  If you would like to return an item that is not marked as such and/or is not eligible for returns, please contact our Customer Care Team by email at
